Elin is a passionate, patient and persistent vocal instructor. With a holistic approach to singing, she addresses barriers between the voice and the mind/body that limit full musical expression. She draws from a number of modalities in lessons including yoga, meditation, breath work, SOVT, Alexander Technique, and the Kodaly method. Recognizing that singing is an incredibly vulnerable act, she works to build a foundation of confidence, self esteem, and trust with each student and strives to foster a safe and supportive environment.
Elin began teaching voice lessons in 2015 and has taught in a wide variety of settings preparing students for local and regional competitions, auditions, and solo performances. She has coordinated and directed local and regional musical performances including camps, competition preparations, open mics and recitals. Elin holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Montana. As a versatile singer she has performed in and with symphonies, operas, jazz ensembles, musicals, big bands, choirs, and rock bands.
Outside of voice lessons Elin can be found at Play! teaching early childhood music, the boxing gym, and singing with either the Missoula Symphony Chorale or Ed Norton Big Band.
